About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Manager to lead the development and lifecycle of our advanced maritime autonomy products. This role will drive product strategy, roadmap development, and cross-functional execution, bridging the gap between hardware and software teams to deliver state-of-the-art autonomous surface vessel systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in managing complex, multidisciplinary projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Strategy & Roadmap:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive product vision and roadmap aligned with market needs, company strategy, and emerging trends in autonomous maritime technologies.
- Prioritize product features, enhancements, and requirements to balance customer value, engineering feasibility, and time-to-market considerations.
- Cross-functional Leadership:
- Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and software development teams to define and deliver product requirements.
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams and external partners, including boat manufacturers and hardware vendors, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
- Requirements Gathering & Analysis:
- Gather, document, and analyze business and technical requirements from diverse stakeholders.
- Translate market research and customer feedback into clear, actionable product specifications.
- Project & Stakeholder Management:
- Lead cross-functional project teams through all phases of the product lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality execution.
- Manage and communicate product updates, risks, and issues to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
- Market & Competitive Analysis:
- Conduct competitive analysis and market research to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Monitor industry trends, particularly in maritime autonomy, to inform strategic decisions and feature development.
- Product Launch & Iteration:
- Plan and execute product launches, working closely with marketing, sales, and support teams to ensure successful market adoption.
- Gather post-launch feedback and metrics to guide iterative product enhancements.
- Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure that products meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations for safety, reliability, and performance.
- Work with quality assurance teams to validate product functionality and user experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
- 3+ years of product management experience, preferably in technology sectors that combine hardware and software development.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex, multidisciplinary projects from ideation through launch.
- Strong technical background with the ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, including autonomy systems, embedded systems, and communications software.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience conveying technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with the maritime industry or autonomous vehicle technologies is a significant plus.
- Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with manufacturing partners and managing supply chain considerations.
- Knowledge of agile methodologies and product management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Aha!).
- A track record of launching innovative products in emerging technology spaces.
Location:
- Preferred to be in the Greater Boston area - Open to remote candidates.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The target salary range for this position is $120,000 - 180,000
