HavocAI is looking for a skilled Operations & Test Technician who will assist in production, integration and test of the HavocAI Rampage USV (unmanned surface vessel). You will work with the Production Team and the Test and Demonstration team.In the next 3-6 months, HavocAI will field the first Havoc Rampage USVs to operational customers, while simultaneously improving that system from prototype -> pre-production -> full rate production.

HavocAI is a fast-paced, fun work environment delivering and testing cutting edge technology at fast speed. We are looking for a demonstrated hand-on self starter who can see problems coming and react to them quickly, helping.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance for on-water testing and demonstrations, including:
    • Vessel movement and preparation
    • Launch & recovery of vessels
    • Emergent repairs to hardware, wiring and electronics
  • Perform all manual assembly and technician operations, to include:
    • Assembly of basic electronics kits into watertight enclosures
    • Basic testing of electronics and wirings
    • Integration of COTS components to Rampage USV hulls
  • Recommend changes or upgrades to electronic and mechanical components, including utilization, placement and orientation
  • Development of assembly and operation procedures


Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required; Associates, Bachelors or Certificate in Technical Field preferred
  • Electromechanically inclined; able to use hand tools such as soldering iron, test equipment, meters, power supplies, grinding equipment, power tools
  • Ability to use and read basic measuring equipment and electronic equipment
  • Extreme comfort with being offshore
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Top Secret Clearance
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to stand for extended periods


Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Understanding of electronic components and mechanical assembly techniques
  • Intermediate technical documentation skills
  • Experience with RC equipment
  • Experience with boating and/or maritime maintenance
  • Experience in light machining and fabrication
  • Intermediate computer skills including MS Office

Location:

This position is co-located with HavocAI equipment and offices in the Providence, RI and Boston, MA area. That majority of the time will be spent in Providence, RI. Travel to support testing and customer exercises is expected. There may be additional events where your presence in person may increase the overall probability of success.
