About Us:
HavocAI is an innovative defense technology company making scalable maritime autonomy a reality. We are pioneering an end-to-end solution for planning, tasking and control of uncrewed surface vessels (USVs). As we continue to quickly grow, we are looking for motivated individuals that are inspired to work within an extremely energetic, creative, and innovative team that is passionate about maritime robotics and exploring the open ocean. We work in a highly dynamic environment where collaboration and idea sharing are a way of life.
About the Role:
As an AI/ML Engineer at HavocAI, you'll develop and deploy advanced models to process maritime sensor data, enhancing situational awareness and autonomy on ASVs. You'll implement real-time computer vision and sensor fusion algorithms on edge hardware, collaborate with our software and autonomy teams, and validate solutions using both real-world datasets and simulation environments. Join us to drive the future of maritime autonomy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, train, and deploy AI/ML models to process and analyze sensor data from maritime environments (e.g., computer vision for object detection, sensor fusion for navigation).
- Implement and optimize deep learning and classical ML algorithms for real-time inference on edge hardware.
- Work with multimodal sensor data (e.g., EO/IR cameras, LiDAR, radar, AIS) to improve situational awareness and autonomy.
- Develop and integrate sensor fusion algorithms to enhance autonomous decision-making.
- Work with ROS2 and real-time data pipelines to ensure AI models operate efficiently onboard ASVs.
- Collaborate with software and autonomy engineers to integrate AI/ML models into HavocAI’s autonomy stack.
- Test and validate AI models using real-world maritime datasets and HavocAI’s fleet of ASVs.
- Deploy AI models in simulation environments and conduct hardware-in-the-loop testing.
- Stay ahead of the latest advancements in AI, deep learning, and autonomous robotics, incorporating cutting-edge techniques into HavocAI’s systems.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience developing AI/ML models for computer vision, sensor fusion, or perception tasks.
- Strong proficiency in Python and ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or ONNX.
- Experience with real-time AI inference on edge hardware (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, Intel Movidius).
- Knowledge of sensor data processing, including working with camera feeds, LiDAR point clouds, and radar signals.
- Understanding of deep learning architectures, such as CNNs, Transformers, and object detection models (YOLO, Faster R-CNN, etc.).
- Familiarity with ROS2, DDS, or MQTT or distributed AI integration.
- Experience optimizing AI models for latency, efficiency, and real-time execution.
- Strong software engineering skills, including experience with C++.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-impact environment, solving real-world autonomy challenges.
