About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Program Manager to drive the successful planning, execution, and delivery of complex, multidisciplinary projects that integrate advanced hardware and software solutions for autonomous surface vessels. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, exceptional organizational skills, and a proven track record in managing programs that require seamless coordination across engineering, manufacturing, and software development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Planning & Execution:
    • Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and milestones to ensure timely delivery of program objectives.
    • Coordinate and align cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and manufacturing, to ensure integrated program execution.
    • Oversee the lifecycle of multiple concurrent projects, managing interdependencies and ensuring alignment with overall program goals.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination:
    • Act as the primary liaison between engineering, product management, manufacturing, and external partners to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
    • Facilitate regular program meetings, status updates, and cross-team reviews to track progress, identify issues, and drive resolutions.
  • Risk Management & Problem Solving:
    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure program stability and success.
    • Proactively troubleshoot technical and operational issues, coordinating with relevant teams to implement timely solutions.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Establish, implement, and continuously refine program management processes and best practices to enhance efficiency and quality.
    • Leverage data and metrics to monitor program performance and drive improvements across the project lifecycle.
  • Technical Oversight:
    • Work closely with engineering teams to understand technical challenges and dependencies, ensuring alignment between program objectives and technical solutions.
    • Support technical decision-making by providing context on program constraints and project priorities.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Reporting:
    • Prepare and deliver regular status reports, presentations, and dashboards for executive leadership and key stakeholders.
    • Ensure all stakeholders are informed of program progress, risks, and changes, maintaining transparency and alignment.
  • Vendor & Partner Management:
    • Collaborate with external vendors and manufacturing partners to ensure that project requirements are met and that deliverables align with quality standards.
    • Manage contractual obligations and coordinate efforts between internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of technical program management experience, preferably in environments that integrate both hardware and software development.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multidisciplinary projects and deliver on ambitious timelines.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to understand and communicate technical concepts related to autonomy systems, embedded systems, and communications software.
  • Excellent project management skills, with proven experience using tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, or similar platforms.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills, with experience engaging and aligning cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in agile methodologies and continuous improvement processes.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Location:

  • Preferred to be in the Greater Boston area - Open to remote candidates

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The target salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000
